Judy Laws has a passion for helping organizations improve business results and build innovation capacity. After working for Nortel Networks as a Human Resource Development professional for 10 years, Judy ventured out as an Independent Consultant in 1995. Judy believes in strengthening clients' ability to apply their own innovative potential in solving business problems. She places a high value on integrity, creativity, learning, and having fun in the work that she does. Judy has established a proven track record for providing excellence and high quality service to clients.
In her work for Graybridge Malkam, Judy:
- Delivered Diversity training across Canada for private and public sector organizations.
- Participated on an evaluation team responsible for conducting "an independent review of progress" of the "Embracing Change Action Plan", a federal government initiative to address the under-representation of persons of visible minority groups within the Federal Public Service.
- Collaborated with a large federal government department's learning design team, providing subject matter expertise in both diversity and e-learning, in the development of a web-based Diversity and Race Relations learning program.
- Designed and delivered five-day train-the-trainer courses for over 65 volunteer facilitators for a federal government department who in turn delivered diversity dialogue sessions to their colleagues throughout the department.
- Developed a "Duty to Accommodate Workshop" for a federal government department inclusive of facilitator guide, participant manual, overheads and recommended learning activities.
- Consulted with two federal government departments towards understanding their issues and challenges related to diversity and provided specific recommendations towards their action plans.
Judy holds a PhD and Master of Arts in Education, and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa. She has certificates in Group Facilitation, Creative Problem Solving, and Adaptiv Training for Corporations (Resiliency training). Judy regularly takes advantage of professional development, public speaking and networking opportunities through her association with the American Creativity Association, the International Association of Facilitators, the Creative Problem Solving Institute, The Ottawa Human Resources Professionals Association, The Ottawa OD Network, and the WEBB Women in the New Century Conference.
